  • Wynton writes soundtrack for Ken Burns’ The War

    Wynton Marsalis and Ken Burns teamed up again. The War, Ken Burns’ series about the American experience in World War II, will be out in fall 2007, and Wynton wrote, arranged and performed the original soundtrack.

    Brooks Brothers, the famous men’s clothier, has officially released its second CD in a series featuring the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra (JLCO) with Wynton Marsalis.
    Cast of Cats contains twelve original tunes composed by Wynton and performed in small group sessions with members of the JLCO.

  • Higher Ground benefit CD is in stores now

    Today, Blue Note Records released Higher Ground, a CD that documents Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Higher Ground Hurricane Relief Benefit Concert, a landmark evening of musical offering that was mounted by Wynton on September 17, less than three weeks after Hurricane Katrina imparted its devastation upon the Gulf Coast.
