Marciac 2008: Photo and video from rehearsals with Richard Galliano
Yesterday, Wynton rehearsed with Richard Galliano. The song they rehearsed are: Comes love, La Foule, Them There Eyes, If You Love Me, Miss Brown To You, What a little Moonlight Can Do, Padam, Billie, A Sailboat in the Moonligth, L’Homme á la Moto, Strange Fruit, La Vie en Rose.

Concernant les rappels du concert, avec la vie en rose avec Wynton à la trompette bouchée, sonorité magnifique, j’ai cru reconnaître ensuite “les feuilles mortes” (“Autumn leaves”). Il m’a semblé que c’était le dernier rappel avec notamment un solo de piano atomique de Dan Nimmer. Merci, Dan, c’était un moment exceptionnel…

Salut Maya, Hi everybody
J’étais au concert et j’ai discuté avec un caméraman qui m’a confirmé que le concert avait été enregistré. Il sortira normalement en CD avant peut-être de sortir en DVD… C’est donc a priori une excellente nouvelle que de pouvoir bientôt reécouter et peut-être revoir ce concert exceptionnel!
I was at this amazing concert and as far as I know, it could be soon available on CD and maybe DVD !

Maya, you can buy the Congo Square DVD on amazon.com. It was filmed last year at the Montreal Jazz Fest. C’est jazz-afrique… j’aime ca beaucoup.

Love it!! It doesn’t take long to pick up on the intensity level between Wynton and Mr. Galliano. The trading 8’s were fun to listen to at the beginning and it’s not everyday you hear an accordion played like that!
