Wynton Marsalis (a festival favorite and regular) returns to Marciac with a program celebrating Jazz’s New Orleans roots. Joining him playing the timeless music of Buddy Bolden, “Jelly Roll” Morton and Louis Armstrong is a dynamic septet featuring Walter Blanding (saxophone); Victor Goines (clarinet and saxophone); Carlos Henriquez (bass); Jason Marsalis (drums); Sam Chess (trombone); and Dan Nimmer (piano).

Wynton Marsalis’ second concert is a kind of retrospective – featuring Marsalis’ seminal compositions as well as original works by his frequent collaborators. The sextet is: Wynton Marsalis (trumpet); Walter Blanding (saxophone); Victor Goines (saxophone); Carlos Henriquez (bass); Jason Marsalis (drums); and Dan Nimmer (piano).
