Peace & Blessings Mr. Marsalis,
I must be completely honest; I am still trying to understand the language of Monk. He was so creatively mysterious in my view. My favorite tune on the album is…Monk’s Mood. I can appreciate the interpretation that Mr. Marsalis has delivered. If words were involved, I feel that I could apply them when I listen to the song. When Mr. Marsalis plays that tune, it just generates a whole new energy that not only magnifies but also intensifies the experience that I think that Monk was trying to express to us all. I often wonder how Monk was feeling at the time he created the song. Nevertheless, once again, Mr. Marsalis has worked his magic. I am really feeling Monk’s Mood! Thank you Mr. Marsalis for your very love rendition of …Monk’s Mood!
Jazzically yours,
Lady Dale
