  • Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra Announces 2016 Blue Engine International Tour

    The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, “the greatest large jazz ensemble working today” (Chicago Tribune), will perform a stylistic range of material with a host of guest artists throughout 15 international cities in 40 days. The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis 2016 Blue Engine International Tour, named for Jazz at Lincoln Center’s new platform, Blue Engine Records, begins on February 4 in Paris, France and will conclude on March 12 in Wellington, New Zealand.   Keep reading »

    Led by Music Director and lead Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra trombonist Vincent Gardner, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis presents Jazz in the Key of Life on January 15 & 16, 2016 at 8pm in Rose Theater, located in Frederick P. Rose Hall, Broadway at 60th Street, New York.     Jazz at Lincoln Center honors saxophonist, educator, and co-founding member of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Joe Temperley, in the special concert event Celebrating Joe Temperley: From Duke to The JLCO on April 16-18 at 8pm. This concert event will take place at Rose Theater in Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall, located at Broadway at 60th Street in New York, New York. The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis will premiere a three-movement concerto composed by Marsalis and dedicated to his longtime friend, about whose playing Marsalis says: “There is no greater sound on earth.” Band members will also debut arrangements of Temperley’s favorite Ellington tunes as well as his original music.   Keep reading »
