The Louisville Courier-Journal called the LCJO “a locomotive capable of blowing your hair back.” That’s right on track for a night of sharp-edged syncopations and hard-chugging rhythms inspired by America’s steam trains. LCJO alumni including Wycliffe Gordon and Rodney Whitaker join the LCJO with Wynton Marsalis on compositions by Ellington, Strayhorn, Mulligan, and Marsalis himself. And while the A Train is the quickest way to get to Harlem, be sure to hop off at Columbus Circle first and catch a little jazz.
