Wynton will speak at World Business Forum 2006

Former President Bill Clinton, Jack Welch, and Wynton Marsalis are just a few of the headliners who will speak to an audience of over 4,000 top business executives during the World Business Forum New York taking place at Radio City Music Hall September 12-13, 2006.
Wynton’s talking point will be: Innovation & Jazz: Going Beyond Fundamentals to Create Value

- What leaders and managers can learn from jazz – Creativity: Improvisation has its rules – Leadership, generosity, character, inspiration: Which are the traits of creators and innovators – How to optimize your ROI on innovation – Why innovation can be an antidote to strategic “fatigue”

Wynton will give a jazz concert for an exclusive audience on the forum’s second evening. A special way to close the forum–dining at world-famous restaurant Cipriani.

Speaking from their practical, academic, and political expertise, an illustrious group of international thought leaders will join President Clinton, Jack Welch, and Wynton Marsalis on the speakers’ platform. This includes: former CEO and Chairman of Honeywell International Inc. Larry Bossidy; bestselling business authors and thought leaders Renee Mauborgne (Blue Ocean Strategy); Malcolm Gladwell (The Tipping Point and Blink); and Jim Collins (Good To Great); former Secretary of State Colin Powell; experts on business strategy and opportunity in Asia Kenichi Ohmae and Dr. Jiren Liu; and Rudy Giuliani, former Mayor of New York City.

  3. Francophile, your name is intriguing…you also share some very important thoughts. What is your relationship to the arts, how do you view the arts and Wynton’s role specifically, as part of an international dialogue that might enhance our understanding of or move us into an enlightened area/approach to foreign policy?

In other words, you’ve raised some serious points but have not offered suggestions for corrective action, please do so and move your criticisms into the realm of instrucive discourse. I am eager for the dialogue.

  4. Clinton & Welch at the World Business Forum. What a pair.
The WBF does whatever it can to increase power & profits of multinationals. Welch-ex CEO of General Electric, maker of fine atomic bombs & retired multi-millionaire. Clinton, who insured during his eight years in office that the people of Iraq continued their struggle for drinking water because the U.S. bombed Iraqi water, sewage and electrical systems. According to Clinton’s Secy. of State, Madeleine Albright, the U.S. was responsible for the deaths of 500,000 Iraqi children under age five.
What a coincidence! That’s just what the Israelis did to Lebanon.
Could Wynton find a more suitable forum for his talents?

  5. ROI- Return on Investment (a comparison of the money earned or lost on an investment to the the amount of money invested). Perhaps this has something to do with what the lack of money invested in music education has cost this country and how it is greatly needed and what such funding can do????

    Hope this helps.

  6. I am not sure how to understand the Leadership line. But if it is a typo, it is also on the World Business Forum site!

    OR

    OR

    • Leadership, generosity, character and inspiration are the traits of creators and innovators. (Personaly I understand it this way)

How to optimize your ROI????? What does it mean? Is it meant for your “Rule of Thumb”? and in that case it would be ROT? or I am completely off.
    Can anybody enligthen me please!
