Drum Major Institute to honor Wynton Marsalis
On June 22, Wynton will be honored with the 2006 Drum Major for Justice Award.
The event is organized by the Drum Major Institute for Public Policy and will take place in New York, on June 22, at Lotus (409 West 14th Street).
At the benefit DMI is auctioning some “experiences” like this one:
MUSIC WITH A MASTER
You and one guest will enjoy a rehearsal with Wynton Marsalis, music director of the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra and 2006 Drum Major for Justice. Then use your two “prime” tickets to the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Mr. Marsalis concert, “Coltrane”. You and your guest will have Green Room Access following the show.
Winner will choose preferred date: Thursday- Saturday, September 14-16, 2006 at 8m.
The concert is in the Rose Theater at the Time Warner Center.
