Jazz At Lincoln Center Orchestra With Wynton Marsalis Announces U.S. Tour Dates And Residency In Mex
The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis (JLCO) announces Fall 2010 tour dates that will include U.S. cities, a week-long residency in Mexico, including performances in Mexico City, Guanajuato City and Guadalajara.
On the U.S. tour dates, the band that the New York Times says brings “power and conviction to some of the swing era’s most durable arrangements,” will perform a vast and unique repertoire: from rare historic compositions to modern Jazz at Lincoln Center-commissioned works, including compositions and arrangements by the jazz masters and members of the band.
The Mexico City residency includes concerts featuring the JLCO joined by guest artists Edmar Castaneda,Paquito D’Rivera, Chano Dominguez, Antonio Sanchez, Diego Urcola; a Jazz for Young PeopleĀ® concert and free public performances. Concerts will feature movements from Marsalis’ “Vitoria Suite,” Chano Dominguez’ “De Cadiz a New Orleans” and music from the U.S., Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Colombia.
