Wynton and LCJO tours Ellington’s Nutcracker
Wynton and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra will tour the Eastern U.S. with a special repertoire for the 2005 holiday season. For the first half of the concerts, the big band will perform selections from Duke Ellington’s “The Nutcracker”.
The second half of the evening will feature the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra drawing from an extensive repertoire that includes original compositions by Mr. Marsalis, Ted Nash and other members of the orchestra as well as the masterworks of Count Basie, Charles Mingus, John Coltrane, and other great jazz composers.
The “Ellington Nutcracker Tour” will commence on December 9 in Zeiterion Theatre in New Bedford, Massachusetts and will take the band to Brookville, New York; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Rochester, New York. Check out the new tour dates
