In honor of the 100th anniversary of his birth, Jazz at Lincoln Center has organized a year-long acknowledgment of his contribution to jazz music. The concert ‘‘Uptown Blues: Ellington at 100’‘ is one of the highlights of this celebration. It marks the first collaboration of KURT MASUR’s New York Philharmonic and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra led by WYNTON MARSALIS. They joined Charlie Rose for a conversation about this concert, as well as Ellington’s lasting legacy.
