Join an all-star octet led by Jazz at Lincoln Center Managing and Artistic Director Wynton Marsalis, featuring trumpeter Marcus Printup, saxophonist Ted Nash, trombonist Vincent Gardner, pianist Helen Sung, guitarist James Chirillo, bassist Rodney Whitaker, and drummer Ali Jackson. This never-before-heard ensemble comes together for their debut Bard performance, a highlight of the second season of Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Summer Jazz Academy, a world-class two week residential education summer institute for advanced study in jazz performance. Summer Jazz Academy participants, some of the nation’s best high school jazz musicians, also appear in curated combos and ensembles.
