“Ellington at 100”: The city’s foremost Ellington tribute will bring together the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (led by Daniel Barenboim) and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra (led by Wynton Marsalis). The repertoire will include the “Peer Gynt” Suite in Edvard Grieg’s original score and in the Ellington/Strayhorn version; plus Marsalis’ arrangements of Ellington’s “Three Songs for Symphony and Jazz Orchestra” and “A Tone Parallel to Harlem.”
