Wynton and friends play Red Hot Holiday Stomp at JALC

In what has become a Jazz at Lincoln Center tradition, Wynton Marsalis heads up a Crescent City-style holiday celebration, with help from the trombonist Wycliffe Gordon, pianist Dan Nimmer, the banjoist Don Vappie and the drummer Herlin Riley, among others.

    BRAVO! BRAVO! BRAVO!!!!!

    I would give anything to be there…I have not been well so spend a lot of nights trying to sleep on the couch. I had the great fortune to see your performance that included the Red Hot Stomp and your interpretation of Maya Angelou’s Poem. I cannot remember the last time I’ve been so moved by a performance. If you promise to do the last piece at the end of the first set, I just might have to find a way to get to the Big Apple. And if I don’t make it…well, I sure hope there will be a DVD AND a CD.
