Juilliard Jazz Presents “The Extended Works of Wynton Marsalis”
Juilliard Jazz presents “The Extended Works of Wynton Marsalis” performed by Juilliard Jazz Ensembles on Monday, December 7, 2015, at 7:30pm in Juilliard’s Paul Hall. The program will feature selections from C“iti Movement (Griot New York)”:http://wyntonmarsalis.org/discography/title/citi-movement (1992) and from The Marciac Suite (1999).
Ensemble coach is Andy Farber; and resident coaches are Rodney Jones and Frank Kimbrough. All are members of Juilliard Jazz’s faculty.
Tickets for Juilliard Jazz Ensemble concerts are $20 and available at events.juilliard.edu. Tickets are free for Juilliard students; non-Juilliard students with valid ID may purchase tickets for $10.
The Juilliard Jazz Ensemble, coached by Rodney Jones, features Immanuel Wilkins (alto saxophone), Ruaridh Pattison (tenor saxophone), Enrique Sanchez and Anthony Hervey (trumpets), Kalia Vandever (trombone), Jaehun Kang (piano), Karl Kohut (bass), and Cameron MacIntosh (drums). They will perform selections from Wynton Marsalis’s Citi Movement (Griot New York) (1992).
The Juilliard Jazz Ensemble, coached by resident coach Frank Kimbrough, features Zoe Obadia (alto saxophone), John Whitcomb (trumpet), William Hawley (trombone), Andrew Renfroe (guitar), Joel Wenhardt (piano), Jacob Chapman (vibraphone), Dan Chmielinski (bass), and Andrew Wangemann (drums). They will perform selections from Wynton Marsalis’s Marciac Suite (1999).
