Wynton Marsalis leads the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra in a celebration of two jazz legends, Duke Ellington and Count Basie. Both were bandleaders who wrote innumerable timeless standards, elevating jazz to fine art. Duke Ellington’s incomparable contributions to music and culture are endlessly powerful, uplifting and worthy of re-examination, while Count Basie and his band could always be depended on for a party whenever they showed up. This is an exhilarating evening of unstoppable swing and iconic blues riffs.
