Live Webcast of 2014 NEA Jazz Masters Awards Ceremony and Concert
The global influence of jazz will be complemented by global access to live jazz music when the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), in partnership with Jazz at Lincoln Center (JALC), presents a live webcast of the annual NEA Jazz Masters Awards Ceremony and Concert on January 13, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. ET. The event takes place in The Allen Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall in New York City.

The Awards Ceremony & Concert will feature the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis in a program dedicated to the honorees’ works; honorees Mr. Liebman, Mr. Laws, and the Marsalis Family will perform. The evening also will feature a special performance by Roberta Gambarini and others in honor of the Jazz Masters who have passed away in the last year: Hank Jones, Abbey Lincoln, James Moody, and Dr. Billy Taylor. -

WBGO Jazz 88.3FM will broadcast the 2010 NEA Jazz Masters Awards Ceremony & Concert taking place on Tuesday, January 12 at 7:30PM in the Rose Theater at Frederick P. Rose Hall, home of Jazz at Lincoln Center at Broadway at 60th Street. The performance will feature the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis in a program dedicated to the 2010 honorees’ works.

The 2009 Jazz Masters: Jazz Oscars
An annual celebration since 1982, the National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Masters Awards Ceremony & Concert has become the jazz world’s equivalent to the Academy Awards. And while there may not have been any Hollywood-style red carpet arrivals outside Jazz at Lincoln Center for this year’s gala on Oct. 17, the sheer number of living legends assembled inside Rose Theater caused many goosebump moments for the faithful fans, family, friends and past Jazz Masters in attendance.
