This evening concert from Jazz at Lincoln Center presents the music of three formidables musicians. The First two are the timeless titans Jelly Roll Morton and Thelonious Monk, the third, Wynton Marsalis, whom the esteemed tenor saxophone and composer Jimmy Heath calls “the man of the hour”. This program will allow the listener to hear a broad range of music, all written to give instrumental voice to the modern age as three very different artist experienced it.
