The Lincoln Center Jazz Band opens the House of Swing
The curtain was swept aside for the majestic opening of the new performing arts center for the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. The day started with a parade down Broadway. The performance opened with an original composition called “Call to Prayer,” which featured Victor Goines on the sax and Top Professor Eric Lewis. The next tune was a Coltrane tune that Wynton dedicated to bass player Carlos whose wife had a baby an hour before the peformance. A special meal with Wynton
Today, Wynton and some guys of the band came to my home to have lunch with my family in Italy. Before going to Benevento (coming from Fano) he drove his motorhome to Manfredonia (Apulia) My mother, Mrs. Antonietta prepared for him a big italian meal: spaghetti alle vongole, seppie arrosto, gamberi, pomodori e mozzarella, melone, gelato e caffĂ©. Wynton was very happy to be here in my town and enjoyed the meal !!! He was here for three hours and then he leaved for Benevento to play at the tonight concert. Why Wynton cancelled his performance in Montreal
Yesterday Wynton cancelled his performance at the Montreal Jazz Fest because of injury to his lips. Now Wynton is back home. He has seen a doctor who advised him to take it easy for a few days, and he really appreciates everyone’s concern !!! Keep reading »

First impression of the italian tour dates with Wynton and the Septet
We are just came back after the four italian dates of the Wynton Marsalis Septet. The concerts has been fantastic and we have a lot of photos and videos to publish on this fan club. The 14 years old Francesco Cafiso, left people speechless playing also a duet with Cassandra Wilson at the Blue Note in Milan. Wynton told us: “I never heard anyone play jazz like him at that age. Never” We also had the possibility to listen to some new upcoming Wynton’s CDs. (The Magic Hour…) They are simply amazing ! Stay tuned please, we will publish the italian… Keep reading »
