  • Wynton to perform new piece for MSU and Detroit Symphony

    Wynton has been commissioned by the Michigan State University College of Music, MSU’s Wharton Center for Performing Arts and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra to create a new piece of music that celebrates Michigan. The world premiere of the piece will be performed by Wynton with the MSU Symphony Orchestra and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 24 in the Cobb Great Hall at the Wharton Center.     Tomorrow January 14 at 8pm WBGO will live broadcast (Real Player required) the last evening of the concert series Detroit Motor City Jazz from Jazz at Lincoln Center.     Jazz at Lincoln Center continues to celebrate the jazz cities of America during the 2005-06 season themed Jazz From Coast to Coast with the week-long Detroit: Motor City Jazz Festival from January 10-15 at Frederick P.
