Wynton to play for Oscar Peterson at Carnegie Hall

Wynton will be one of the great jazz musicians at “The Master of Swing” Tribute to Oscar Peterson, this June 8th at Carnegie Hall, New York City.
This all-star program will pay homage to the man and his music. Oscar Peterson is thrilled about this historic event and wants to thank everyone involved for their participation in his honor. Mrs. Oscar Peterson and Celine Peterson, their daughter, will be present in his place as he is not strong enough at this time to make the trip. The tribute will be even more meaningful as it is long overdue and will be presented with Oscar Peterson’s blessing and gratitude to all for their appreciation of his life in Jazz.
Wynton will play with Mulgrew Miller, Christian McBride and Lewis Nash.

  2. When I first listened to your music I knwe that God exisst . It was on a sunday in Soweto and I was visiting my sister Mama. She own a sheeben and as noraml Soweto on a Sunady is on a jazz smoke and shebeen owners do their many tricks to attract cleintele as expected.I was the youngest probably 25 years now 31 years and the oldest person in our company was 70 years. We played music from Champion Jack Dupree, Duke Ellington until Mama asked everybody to shut their mouths and listern to the real music. Thats when she played THE MAJESTY OF THE BLUES. Eveybody came to join us and from that moment I knew God exists as we were spirituallly transported and trans-formed- through your music. When are coming to South Africa

  3. I had the honor and privilege to hear a piece of Congo Square at Ravinia on Saturday, June 23 07.
I was blown away. Your music transported me back to purity. Some of the music today is so rank it’s as if I you swimming in a cess pool. It truly is as if I have been in a cess pool and was delivered after hearing Congo Suqare. As if I was finally saved, and freed. My ears started to listen and I began to think again. I was transported back to real music! I was able to remember what good music truly is. I was truly delivered, and I enjoyed my diliverance. I know I will still hear the fraud of what some call music, because it is all around me. Thanks for the cleansing, and taking me back to my roots and the music I love, Jazz!

I would love to sing one song with you and yours, that would be my dream come true.
