Wynton playing with Wes Anderson tonight at Village Vanguard

Wynton will be special guest tonight at Village Vanguard.
He will play with the Wessel Anderson Quintet featuring also Walter Blanding (tenor sax), Antonio Ciacca (piano) Kengo Nakamura (bass), Joe Farnsworth (drums).
Mr. Anderson is a master of the saxophone. He is principally known as a member of the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, and that doesn’t give much sense of what he’s capable of, both compositionally and improvisationally.
Wynton will be on hand this week joining the band as a sidemen, as he has been doing a lot for the last year, staying on the down-low and playing marvelously in a guest role.

Tonight through Sunday night at 9 and 11
Village Vanguard (78 Seventh Avenue South, at 11th Street, West Village, 212- 255 – 4037)
