Wynton performed at the Parc Floral de Paris

Yesterday afternoon, at 4:40 PM Wynton was on stage at Parc Floral de Paris with his Quintet, to play at Paris Jazz Festival 2007. They played selections from “The Magic Hour” and from the latest album: “From the Plantation to the Penitentiary”.
The concert was beautiful and a lot of people attended the performance in the lovely Parc Floral, in the middle of the Bois de Vincennes. We also shot some video clips for you, and we’ll publish them soon in the podcast section.
This morning we are leaving for Marciac where Wynton is going to play concerts with the Quintet, the Septet and he also will give masterclasses.
Feel free to comment if you attended the performance and want to share your opinions and photos with Wynton and the other fans.

my wife, my six children and I were in Paris Jazz Festival. It was the first time we saw and heard Wynton’s quintet. It was so magic.

  8. I also loved the concert yesterday!

I was waiting for weeks with great anticipation as soon as I discovered the program for this year’s festival.

I must admit I was a bit disappointed by the fact that Mr Marsalis did not say much and has only introduced the musicians. Nothing for hello and nothing between the songs. I really found it strange, having heard Mr Marsalis telling many interesting things on some videos or in some live albums.

I had the impression that Mr Marsalis was the only person not having a good time there… I hope that whatever may have put you in a bad mood is over and that you’ll be enjoying Marciac (unfortunately I won’t be able to attend).

  9. Dear Wynton,

    I have also some pictures.

This week, I was also at the concert of Roy Hargrove and its hard bop quintet (wednesday 25th) and Stanley Jordan (friday 27th). Great concert too where I met the bass player, Charles Moffet who worked with you in 1985 and in 1986 with your borther Brandford.

Anyway, enjoy your trip in Marciac.

  10. Great concert Wynton!!
I will send you as soon as possible some black and white stills of your performance in windy Paris and your autographs session in the stage door. Next time I will ask you for an autograph, yesterday I did forget my pen and I only took my photo camera.
The first time I saw you was in the Amnesty International Concert in Chile in 1990. Splendid concert also!!
Hope to hear from you soon and good luck for the rest of the quintet.
