Big Band Holidays U.S. Tour 2014

The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis and vocalist Cécile McLorin Salvant celebrate “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year” with a 3-week, 12-city Big Band Holidays U.S. Tour. Kicking off the holiday season with messages of peace and good cheer, the Big Band Holidays U.S. Tour commences on December 1 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and ends on December 21 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Tour dates include four performances at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Rose Theater at Frederick P. Rose Hall, located at Broadway at 60th Street in New York, New York.

At this joyous concert event that has become a holiday favorite among jazz lovers and families, the world-renowned Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis will explore the canon of holiday standards with new and traditional arrangements of Yuletide favorites.
Tunes will feature band members’ signature styles including Sherman Irby’s clear sense of swing, Victor Goines’ New Orleans-flavored nuances, and Chris Crenshaw’s deeply soulful and complex church-rooted grooves. Augmenting these special concerts is Mack Avenue recording artist and 2014 GRAMMY® award nominee, Cécile McLorin Salvant, who is one of the most commanding new voices in jazz.
