    Last April 24, 25 & 26, 2008, at Rose Theater, during the “Tap Meets Flamenco” concert, Wynton the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra also performed selections from the Vitoria Suite, which the city of Vitoria (Spain) commissioned Wynton to write.     On December 18, 2007, PBS taped Wynton at Rose Hall reading William Butler Yeats’ The Wild Old Wicked Man. PBS web site has just published the video from that reading. The Poetry Foundation, undertook this project in order to expose a diverse audience to a broad spectrum of poetic voices, build an appreciation and an audience for poetry, and increase the presence of poets and poetry within the two most ubiquitous media in American popular culture–the Web and TV.     A few days ago, the Academy of Achievement updated the web pages of their interview to Wynton. That interview is one of the best available around and it’s from 1991. The interesting conversatin is 8 pages long, and features audio and high-res video excerpts.     As you know, on 2001 Wynton served as a senior creative consultant for the documentary “Jazz”, with filmmaker Ken Burns. The film, divided into a series of 10 episodes, was broadcasted on PBS, and was released on DVD later that year by the same company.     On December 10, 2007, Wynton played for Jazz at Lincoln Center’s (JALC) annual holiday concert, Red Hot Holiday Stomp, from Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola in Frederick P. Rose Hall. The concert featured Wynton leading an evening of joyous music and storytelling. Joining him for Red Hot Holiday Stomp were Wycliffe “Pinecone” Gordon, Wess “Warmdaddy” Anderson, Victor Goines, Joe Temperley, “Papa” Don Vappie, Reginald Veal, Dan Nimmer and Herlin Riley.
