  • Wynton and John Besh to shoot Iconoclasts episode in New Orleans

    Wynton is in New Orleans today to shoot an episode for the third series of Iconoclasts with chef John Besh. If you have the Sundance Channel, you might be familiar with the ‘Iconoclasts’ television series. The 60-minute show takes two innovators from different fields and brings them together to discuss their passions and creative processes. The episode should be broadcasted on November 22, 2007, at 10 PM ET/PT.     The Juilliard School will mark its 100th anniversary tonight in a gala performance starring former students including conductor-composer John Williams, soprano RenĂ©e Fleming, actor Kevin Kline, Wynton Marsalis, violinist Itzhak Perlman, and pianist Emanuel Ax.     These are trying times for so many people from the great city of New Orleans, including jazz great, Wynton Marsalis. The New Orleans native and Pulitzer Prize winner is now the artistic director of “Jazz at Lincoln Center” in New York City. Tomorrow night, he takes part in a special fundraiser on BET. On September 17th, he hosts a special event for hurricane victims at Lincoln Center. Tonight, though, thankfully, he joins us from New York.
