    On Monday, June 4, Wynton will participate in a conversation hosted by the Sixth & I History Synagogue in Washington DC. Wynton and Leon Wieseltier, literary editor of the New Republic, will discuss “Where Y’all At?: Jazz, Race and Culture” at 7:00 pm. Cost of ticket is $6.   • Wynton is going to speak at the Tribeca Film Festival

    Jazz at Lincoln Center is proudly associated with the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival premiere of Chops, a documentary film directed by Bruce Broder that follows a Florida high school jazz band’s journey to Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Essentially Ellington High School Jazz Band Competition & Festival. Special press screenings will take place on: Thursday, April 26th at 10am, Clearview Chelsea West, theatre 1.     National Arts Advocacy Day 2007 will be held March 12-13 in Washington, DC, at the Omni Shoreham Hotel. The breakfast will feature a keynote presentation by Wynton; special remarks by members of Congress and other celebrity artists; and a special performance by Melody Gardot, singer-songwriter and recipient of the 2007 VSA arts International Young Soloists Award. The event is strategically timed to give grassroots advocates the opportunity to shape federal arts policy and educate members of Congress.
