On December 12 and 14, 2002, at Alice Tully Hall, the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis rip-roar through the joyous music of Benny Goodman, the bandleader most respected for popularizing our nation’s rhythm and swing. All Rise in stores now
In stores October 1, 2002, the Sony Classical release of Wynton Marsalis’ ‘All Rise’ comes more than five years after his epic oratorio ‘Blood on the Fields’ won the Pulitzer Prize for Music. ‘All Rise,’ however, cannot be considered simply a follow-up. All Rise: Wynton’s new Album due October 1st
The new CD from Wynton Marsalis, titled All Rise, is due in stores October 1st. All Rise, is an evening-length twelve-part composition that was commissioned and premiered by the New York Philharmonic with the LCJO and the Morgan State University Choir. Wynton and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra remember September/11
Jazz at Lincoln Center will join the City of New York and the nation in remembering the heroes and victims of September 11th. The Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra (LCJO) with J@LC Artistic Director Wynton Marsalis will perform in a special concert on September 11, 2002 at 7pm on the Great Lawn of Central Park as part of the City of New York’s official events commemorating this tragedy. The LCJO will present the Duke Ellington classic “A Tone Parallel to Harlem” in the concert also featuring the Orchestra of St. Luke’s and the Stuyvesant High School Choir. Keep reading »
